The original circumcision register has been in the Frank family for 130 years. Through inheritance or otherwise the book came into the possession of Izaak Frank after 1879. Frank, who died in about 1917, was the cantor (gazzan) of the jewish community Zwolle during the years 1885-1890.
The book was hidden in the war of 1940-1945 and was then handed over to Levie (Louis) Frank ,the cantor of the jewish community Eindhoven.before the war. Later on it came into the possession of his daughter, Mrs. Rosenthal-Frank in The Hague.
