Event: event Jan 1794 sale of seat from estate in synagogue of Amsterdam On 1 Shevat 5554 appears katsin k"h Leizer ben late pu k"h Juzpe Cohen z.l. before the trustees of the jewish community in Amsterdam, as he and his now late mother Edil bat k"h Itsak Leeuwarden z.l. were sole inheritors of his late brother Uzie l Cohen z.l, this because of the fact, that the late k"h Uziel Cohen's sole son k"h Abraham and his sole daughter miss Rivka have abstained themselves from and rejected this inheritance , according to a paper signed by Rivka on May 28th, 1790 an d Abraham on Jun 1st, 1790 before notary Jacob Klinkhamer & witnesses; and as the late k"h Uziel's two sisters, i.e. mrs.Fraadche, wife of pu hr"r Shlomo ben pu k"h Mordechai m.h.l. in R"D[Rotterdam] and mrs. Rivka, wife of k"h Leizer ben k"h Lei b H"B[Hamburger] z.l. as well have expressed to abstain from and refuse this inheritance, as stated in a paper signed by mrs. Rivka & spouse on Aug 26th, 1790 before the same notary and mrs Fraadche & spouse in Rotterdam on Dec 18th, 1790 befor e notary Isaac Palitan & witnesses,and now k"h Leizer Cohen is sole executor and guardian of his mother's estate, according to a 'codicil' she made on Nov 30th, 1792; and as such, he now sells a seat as inheritor of his late brother and as executo r of his mother's estate, to his sister-in-law the ketsina Mata bat late mohr"r Jokeb Kleef z.l, widow of his late brother khr"r Uziel Cohen z.l. for the amount of fl. 475,-.
Event: event Jan 1795 inheritance matters in Amsterdam on 23 Teveth 5555 appears before the trustees of the jewish community of Amsterdam naaleh k"h Leizer ben pum hr"r Juzpe Cohen z.l, executor of the wills of his ancestors; and to him alone fall all belongings which are still around, which belonge d to his late father pu k"h Juzpe ben Uziel Cohen z.l's estate; as pu k"h Juzpe z.l. stipulated in his will made up before notary Mr. Jacob Klinkhamer & witnesses on Dec 9th, 1776 that his 2 sons k"h Leizer and the other, who is'nt with us becaus e he is in the land of [eternal] life k"h Uziel z.l. will inherit all his belongings, after pay-out of legacies to his daughters, as has been done according to the act and according to an act signed by his 2 daughters and their spouses made up bef ore notary Adam Schaade & witnesses on Dec 21th, 1777; and further on he also left a legacy of fl. 10.000,- to his widow mrs.Edil, which was executed by k"h Leizer m.h.l, after the decease of his brother k"h Uziel z.l., as becomes clear from an al so submitted receipt signed by mrs.Edil before notary Ferdinant Samuel Korf & witnesses on Oct 27th,1792; and now with the decease of k"h Uziel z.l. all inheritants - the closest first etc - have distanced themselves from his estate 'und sich abst enirt' from the estate, and given it in the hands of k'h Leizer, as stated in the additional acts made up before notary Klinkhamer here, the one from the maiden Rivka, sole daughter of k"h Uziel from date May 28th, 1790, and the other from his sol e son k"h Abraham m.h.l, made up on June 1st, 1790; [as well as?] Rivka ( who was k"h Uziel's sister) & spouse on Aug 26 th, 1790 and at last k'h Uziel's sister Fraadche & spouse in Rotterdam, as [attested] by an act signed there before notary Isa ac Palitin & witnesses.
