Benjamin (Bernard) Groen, birth 11 Jul 1891 Amsterdam, died 12 MEI 1929 on board S.S. Sibajak in the Red Sea, buried Muiderberg, C65-46, son of Salomon Groen and Matje Trijbits
He died on board of the Sibajak of the Rotterdam Lloyd, on its way from the Dutch East Indies to Holland, while stopped in the Red Sea because of mechanical problems. There were several cases of dysentery among the pasengers.
He was one of the founders of the Laanhof Jewish cemetery in Batavia, where his name was inscribed on the 'first' building stone.
