At the time of their departure no living children existed.

'Heden nacht wierd, tot onze innigste droefheid ons eenigst en tedergeliefd zoontje Louis Joseph Johan Charles de Jongh, in den vroegtijdige ouderdom van 11 maanden en 13 dagen, ons door den dood ontrukt. Hij stierf aan een subiet toeval van ee n hevige beroerte; zwaar was zijn lijden, doch zijne assche ruste in vrede en zijne ziel zij Gode behagelijk.
