Event: signed a will 14 Apr 1824 Amsterdam made up a testament before notary Theodore Marinus de Man in Amsterdam and made his wife sole inheritor. His estate equalled abt. fl.152.800,-.
His widow made up a testament on 26 Apr 1841 before notary Bernard v.Praag in Amsterdam. Inventory of her estate was passed before this notary on 25 May 1841.
At the time of their departure no living children existed.
However, according to Bataviasche Courant d.d. 1 Mar 1823, nr. 9: 'mr.J. de Jongh and family' departed from Dutch East Indies on 24 Feb 1823 as passengers of the ship Delphina (captain: J. Boelen jr) from Batavia to Antwerpen [info mr.C.P. Briet].

'Heden nacht wierd, tot onze innigste droefheid ons eenigst en tedergeliefd zoontje Louis Joseph Johan Charles de Jongh, in den vroegtijdige ouderdom van 11 maanden en 13 dagen, ons door den dood ontrukt. Hij stierf aan een subiet toeval van ee n hevige beroerte; zwaar was zijn lijden, doch zijne assche ruste in vrede en zijne ziel zij Gode behagelijk. De diepe wonde, door dit smartelijk verlies aan het bedroefde hart der ouderen toegebragt, vermag de tijd alleen verzachten, Batavia, de n 8den van Hooimaand 1810,
