He took the name Gaarkeuken for himself, his son Marcus and seve grandchildren. These are all mentioned on the certificate of namegiving,. His daughter, Engeltje, was already married.
This namegiving was ordered by the Government during the time that The Netherlands was under the rule of France (Napoleon Bonaparte.
