Event: event Feb 1784 sale of seat in synagogue of Amsterdam on 20 Shevat 5544 appears before the trustees of the jewish community the couple Frumet bat k"h Neta R' Koppelsh z.l. & k"h Hirsch ben late mohr"r Peis Hammelburg z.l, [the last] being left sole inheritor of his late father's estate, and accordin g to the deed of the court of yesterday executed before the chief rabbi AB"D [aw beth din = president of the court] & R"M [rosh metivta = head of rabbinical school] m.h.l. & his court etc, and now sell 1 seat in the great synagogue to aluf katsi n Leib ben late Hirsch Gans z.l. for the amount of fl. 700,-, the seat in the women's section, which is still registered in my father-in-law/father Peis z.l.'s name.

The deed of the court: As we, the court, consisting of three of us, acting unitedly, when appeared before us the dear khr"r Hirsch ben late rabbani mohr"r Peis Hammelburg z.l, and stated before us a trustworthy statement, [saying] that his fathe r at his death left 2 sons, i.e. he himself and his brother Eli', who died afterwards as a bachelor, and so Hirsch was left sole inheritor to the estate of his father & brother.
