Event: event Feb 1779 transfer of seats in synagogue of Amsterdam On 17 Shevat 5539 two acts are made up concerning seats in the great synagogue, which belonged to the late Feibel ben hr"r Samuel Cohen z.l;
1) as we undersigned witnesses saw the will of Feibel ben hr"r Samuel Cohen z.l, made up before notary Jan Snoek & witnesses on May 2nd, 1737, wherein was stipulated the 'prelegaat' to his son Benjamin, i.e.1 seat owned by him in the great synagog ue nr. 194, and now we have also seen the will of the late Benjamin ben Feibel Cohen z.l, made up here before notary Jacob Kampen & witnesses on Aug 8th, 1763, wherein it is stated, that all of his estate goes to his brother Abraham Cohen m.h.l , except for the seat in the great synagogue, that he inherited from his father Feibel Cohen z.l, which shall belong to Kalman Cohen m.h.l, the son of the couple Abraham Cohen & Tserle bat David Renz z.l. after their depart; and so, from now on th is seat belongs to Abraham Cohen & spouse, and after their depart it will belong fully and totally to Kalman Cohen;
2) a seat in the great synagogue nr. 216, which was registered on folio in the name of the late Feibel ben hr"r Samuel Cohen z.l, which [however] was bought by the late Feibel Cohen z.l. with money owned by his son katsin Abraham Cohen, as state d detailedly in the late Feibel Cohen z.l's will, made up here before notary Jan Snoek & witnesses on May 2nd, 1737, as we undersigned witnesses have seen with our own eyes; so from now on this seat belongs fully and totally to katsin Abraham be n late Feibel Cohen z.l.
